Robbie Sleap
Registered Veterinary Technician
He/Him
Robbie grew up just outside Kingston, ON, surrounded by a diverse array of pets, ranging from dogs and birds to rabbits, reptiles, and various pocket pets. He is Kahu to Patty, a foster fail from the Toronto Humane Society, who lives with his parents, where she thrives in their spacious backyard and enjoys exploring scenic trails—activities that bring her much happiness.
Robbie has a strong background in Emergency and Specialty Medicine, and Shelter Medicine, with experience at the Toronto Humane Society and several emergency and specialty hospitals in Toronto. He is passionate about continuing education and enjoys sharing his knowledge with others, frequently attending webinars and conferences—both in person and virtually—to stay at the forefront of the field.
One of Robbie’s proudest moments was fostering a conure through the Toronto Humane Society, which was feather-picking due to boredom. Through enrichment and dedicated care, his feathers slowly regrew and he found a loving forever home. This experience highlights his passion for helping animals and making a difference in their lives.
When not working, Robbie enjoys exploring the city, trying new foods, and engaging in creative hobbies like embroidery. As a nature lover, he finds joy in caring for an ever-growing collection of houseplants and enjoys biking in his free time.
